Goldbacks: A New Way to Own
Goldbacks resemble traditional paper currency in form but are made using thin layers of 24-karat gold. Initially introduced in Utah under the Utah Legal Tender Act of 2019, they function as a voluntary local currency, accepted at the discretion of participating vendors. Since their debut, additional states — Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Oklahoma, and most recently Arizona — have each launched their own series, making Arizona the seventh state to adopt this innovative, gold-backed form of exchange.

Currency Features:

  • Contains 1/10 oz (0.1 oz) of .999 fine gold.
  • Each note is sealed in a protective currency sleeve or pouch.
  • Face: The design features Libertas standing proudly above a Navajo Code Talker in full World War II Marine uniform. Behind them, the Iwo Jima flag rises over a desert landscape framed by soaring eagles and Navajo cultural symbols, representing courage, unity, and freedom.
  • Crafted in the USA by Goldback Inc., using proprietary Aurum® technology to bond gold into a flexible, durable medium.

This innovative form of gold ownership allows you to diversify your wealth affordably, combining artistry with intrinsic value. Add the Arizona 100 Goldback to your collection today!

The Arizona 100 Goldback
The Arizona 100 Goldback embodies the virtue Libertas (Liberty) by honoring the extraordinary courage and legacy of the Navajo Code Talkers. Set against the towering red rocks of Window Rock, Arizona — the seat of the Navajo Nation — the design centers on a Navajo Marine crouched in full World War II uniform, radio in hand. He represents the hundreds of Navajo men whose ingenuity and bravery gave rise to the only unbreakable code used during the war. Their communications were vital to American victories in key Pacific battles, including Guadalcanal, Okinawa, and Iwo Jima.

Standing above him is Libertas, personifying both freedom and Navajo strength. She wears traditional adornments — a concho belt, squash blossom necklace, and woven dress patterns — blending classical symbolism with Navajo heritage. In her hands, she holds a spear, signifying the defense of both land and liberty, while her seven-spiked crown radiates as a beacon of enduring freedom.

Around them, eagles soar as guardians of vigilance and strength, while Marines advance across the desert terrain, framed by cactus and stone. The seal of the Navajo Code Talker Museum affirms an official partnership with the Navajo Nation, grounding the design in authenticity and respect.

This Goldback pays tribute not only to the Code Talkers’ wartime heroism but also to the enduring truth that freedom is preserved through unity and courage — and that some of its strongest defenders spoke through the sacred language of the Navajo people.

Etched along the bottom of the note is the powerful inscription: “Our language was our strongest weapon.”

About Goldbacks
The Goldback® is a groundbreaking form of spendable, physical gold. Each note is made from 24-karat gold, offering a practical way to conduct small transactions while protecting purchasing power. Created to solve the historic “small coin problem”, Goldbacks enable everyday trade with real gold — providing stability even as inflation erodes the value of traditional currency.

Recognized as legal tender in several states — including Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, South Dakota, Florida, Oklahoma, and now Arizona — Goldbacks can be bartered or exchanged much like other alternative currencies around the world.

Combining the enduring value of gold with modern craftsmanship and symbolic artwork, Goldbacks represent both financial resilience and cultural beauty, making them a meaningful addition to any collection or portfolio.
