The 1 oz Silver Eagle coin debut can be traced back to 1986. The United States Mint releases the first official silver bullion coin of the United States, with a legal tender face value of one US Dollar. The United States Mint's has since issued new Silver Eagle coins each year, each proudly bearing the year of their release. The silver coin's widespread popularity contributes to its liquidity, bought and sold frequently in precious metal markets. The universally recognizable design and government-backed assurance offer a sense of security for individuals investing physical silver.

1 oz Silver Eagle Coin Design

The obverse side of this silver coin showcases the design found on the Walking Liberty half dollar coin, initially introduced by the US Mint in 1916. This design captures the essence of Lady Liberty adorned in the American flag, her countenance turned towards the emerging sun. Accompanying the image is the inscription "LIBERTY" along with the year of minting. The portrayal of Lady Liberty, elegantly enfolded in the American flag, evokes themes of freedom and hope.

For coins minted during the first half of 2021 and before, the reverse features a regal heraldic eagle donning a shield. Clasping arrows and olive branches in its talons, the eagle's presence symbolizes strength and peace. To commemorate the silver eagle coin's 35th anniversary, the US Mint introduced a fresh reverse design in the latter half of 2021. This novel depiction presents a bald eagle in the act of descending into its nest, clutching an oak branch in its talons.
