Add the 2026 1 oz Gold Austrian Philharmonic to your cart today!

Gold Philharmonic Series
First introduced in 1989, the Austrian Gold Philharmonic bullion coin was created to honor the world-famous Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the most celebrated symphonies in history. Initially issued with a face value of 2,000 schillings, the denomination changed to €100 in 2002 following the introduction of the euro.

Over time, the series has expanded beyond the 1 oz coin to include fractional sizes and even Silver and Platinum Philharmonic coins. On the coin’s 20th anniversary, the Austrian Mint released a monumental 20 oz Gold Philharmonic, underscoring the series’ lasting prestige.

Design of the Gold Philharmonic
Since its debut, the Gold Philharmonic has featured two enduring designs by Thomas Pesendorfer, former Chief Engraver of the Austrian Mint. The obverse highlights the Great Organ of the Vienna Musikverein’s Golden Hall. The reverse showcases a collection of orchestral instruments — the cello, violins, harp, Vienna horn, and bassoon — symbolizing harmony, unity, and Austria’s rich cultural heritage.
